Happy Camping Teen One

Today was spent mostly driving Teen One up to her annual Bible Camp. It's a time of year she has come to look forward to, meeting up with old friends, enjoying the simple life of camping ( no wifi there!) the fun and the food. This year of course she has the new challenge of being a J.O.
The journey up takes a good few hours, but we pass some pleasant scenery.
One of the villages we drive through is called Cropwell Bishop, which is famous for making Stilton Cheese.

Many of the fields we drove passed had been harvested, making everywhere look very tidy!

Before we knew it we were at the campsite once again...it never seems like a whole year in between visits!

Whilst Teen One went to find out which tent she was in, Teen Two headed straight for the zipslide!

All too soon it was time to say goodbye.

Before heading to our hotel, we stopped off at a pretty restaurant, which was very peaceful and welcoming inside. It also had an amazing outdoor seating area...however Teen Two does not like cigarette smoke so we that wasn't an option for us sadly.

Having chosen a "lighter" main meal option, I actually had room for dessert, I chose Sicillian lemon tart...it was delicious!

Hubby chose gingerbread cheesecake, which looked amazing and I understand tasted equally as good.

Teen Two chose jam roly poly.

It had been a long day, and we were thankful to finally roll up at our home for the night.

As we settle down to a little luxury it's hard not to feel guilty knowing that Teen One will be in a sleeping bag under canvas...but I am sure she will be having a great time.

  2. I can't believe it is a year since you were 'going to camp'.
Lovely to find a good restaurant and I entirely agree with teen two about the smoking issue. Pleased to hear the other day that it might be banned in eating areas wherever they are inside or out. That would be wonderful, it takes all the pleasure of eating alfresco!! Make the most of your luxury twill soon be over. Xxx
