A Bit of a Headache!

We spent last night at a Premier in Coventry, just under an hour away from Teen One's camp site.
We didn't arrive until after 11pm so went out like a light!
For breakfast, we decided to try out the Toby Inn. Having checked the menu out online, we rather liked the sound of breakfast Yorkshires and potato hash.
It was rather disappointing then to see neither at the hot plate. After gently asking the staff numerous times, and feeling we had wasted our time and money, they finally arrived...and I have to say, they were worth the wait.
The Yorkshires had bacon and onion at the bottom and the potato hash had onion, bacon and cheese in. It was more like pan fried potatoes than hash as we know it, definitely worth repeating.

It was lovely to be greeted by Teen One with a hug and kiss...and  have her back with us.
We had three or four hours to fill before being able to check in to our hotel, and weren't sure what we were going to do. We knew it would need to be something non strenuous as Teen One is always shattered after her week at camp. We decided to just follow our  noses and see where we ended up.
Unfortunately, before long, Teen Two developed one of his (rare thankfully) migraines. Having given him two lots of meds and no change in the pain, we pulled into a Morrisons car park and hoped a nap would sort him out.
The weather was very humid and it wasn't really possible for him to get into a comfy position to sleep and with no air to speak of, he just got worse.
I went into Morrisons and thankfully it was one with a pharmacy. The sold me a  soothing cold gel pad, which thankfully did the job after about 45mins.

It cost £2.29 for four strips and I will definitely keep some in my bag/medicine box. It doesn't contain any medication so can be used along side any painkillers already taken.

Teen One , meantime, had fallen asleep in the car!
Hunger however, meant she didn't sleep long and was eager to get something to eat.
Morrisons also had a café, so we had a spot of lunch, whilst Hubby and Teen Two stayed in the car until the pain had passed. They then came and joined us and life was thankfully back to normal!

We no longer had any time to fill, as it had all been spent in Morrisons! So it was straight to our hotel... and what a surprise...we had been upgraded with some treats! Bottles of water, wine ( to be taken home and used for cooking) a jar of posh nuts....and...joy of joys...a jar of jelly beans!
We also have bath robes...luxury for  using poolside later on.

Within minutes of getting into the room, Teen One crashed out onto her bed....and promptly fell asleep! Having heard they were up till after 1am playing games each night...she has a lot of sleep to catch up on!

  2. Breakfast looked good. Beats my egg and sausage McMuffin - although we did pick up a free set of kids keep fit cards (we will be using these for warming the kids on a Friday night!) so it was worth the visit.

    1. At one point I was wishing we had gone to McD's, which is what we have done previously from that Premier Inn!
