National Yorkshire Pudding Day

This morning both Hubby and I overslept...not waking till 7.45am, which for a Sunday morning is not
really enough time to get comfortably ready for our 10am church service, however its amazing what you can do when you put your mind to it!
Lunch was the usual roast dinner with Yorkshire puds....and apparently today is
What will they think of next?
Sadly mine were not up to the usual standard today...mostly because I forgot to raise the oven temperature!
That wasn't the only culinary disaster of the day either!
I made a lemon meringue pie, which everyone thought looked yummy...
...but when we bit into was so sour!!
It was as if the lemon was made from lemon peel.
We just about managed to eat it, with the sweetness of the meringue and pastry it was bearable!
I knew the pack had come from a delivery from Approved Foods some time ago...but hadn't realised it was THIS long ago!
I can only assume being well past the best before date, in this instance has seriously affected the taste!
I had two more boxes which are now in the bin....they only cost 15p each so not worth feeling guilty about.
With the dishes all cleared up, we moved swiftly on to the games session.
Teen Two really is expert at Rummikub and always manages to help the rest of us out (after he has won of course) to find places for our remaining tiles.
After a light tea....which comprised of finally finishing off the chocolate panettone from Christmas,
it was back to church for our Gospel Service.
We had a little one come out with her mum tonight and it was lovely to hear her little chitty chats throughout the service.
