Tying Up Loose Ends!

This morning was church as usual, first thing, then back home to get the roast dinner underway.

Today was a little bit special as we had a friend coming, with a new lady friend.
Our friend lived in Portsmouth up until a few years ago and we do miss him.
When we invited him for dinner, he asked if he could bring his "friend" with him...mentioning her name.
It was such a surprise to us to hear that they were an "item" and we couldn't be happier for them.
He has longed for Miss Right to come along and she lost her husband in a tragic accident so really deserves someone special to bring some spark back to her life...and they both had a spring in their step today for sure.
She really is a lovely person and we think they are just perfect for each other!
It is early days yet, but we are hoping and praying things work out well for them.
My late father in law used to call this sort of situation "Tying up loose ends!"

Teen Two gets along really well with our friend...both being of a techy mind and into games like Minecraft and Mario.
Teen Two has made a game using Mario and challenged our friend to do a level....it was hilarious watching them on the sofa this afternoon, I haven't seen Teen Two laugh so much in ages!

We spent the rest of the afternoon chit chatting, then having toasted crumpets before heading out to the evening service.
Tomorrow is my friends funeral, something I have been putting to the back of my mind....but will have to face in a few hours.

"Behold what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God"
