1066 And All That

Today I took my Australian cousin to Bosham.
Rather like our American friends, my cousin is always in awe of British history and the age of many of our buildings.
Bosham has many beautiful cottages and a picturesque church on the quay, which dates back to Saxon times.
It has a mention in the Bayeaux Tapestry and a copy has been embroidered and is kept in the church.
The flowers in the church are always lovely...I particularly enjoyed these ones displayed in a jug...
...and how about these stunning pure white hydrangeas...aren't they beautiful!
We had our usual walk round the village...and Teen Two proved even 16yr olds cant resist the lure of a swing under a tree!
Of course, after all the walking, we were in need of a drink....Teen Two and my cousin chose hot chocolate with all the trimmings!
With a final treat for Teen Two on the way home...a salted caramel ice cream.
My poor cousin has been in a lot of pain all week with her back. Walking and sitting is very painful... so car journeys and walking round has not been ideal.
This afternoon  I suggested we just relax in the garden, the sun was shining and it gave us an opportunity to just sit and enjoy each others company.
I sat in my favourite spot under the gazebo, crocheting granny squares, and my cousin made herself comfortable on a sun lounger.
Hubby was home early, so he too was able to enjoy some peace and quiet for a change.
Any of you on bunny watch will be pleased to know they are still enjoying their holiday with us, and we are really going to miss them when they have to leave.

Today's Proverb:
Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.
