A Budding Musician In the House?

Today was a fairly average kind of Sunday, awaking to a cuppa in bed, courtesy of hubby, then on with getting ready for our usual roast dinner after church.

Today the Yorkshires excelled themselves...not only were they light, puffed up , almost all of them had holes (Teen Two does love to fill his with bits of his dinner!) but not one of them stuck to the tray! Being hyper critical of my own work, I would just say they were in the oven a minute or two longer than they should have been and were a shade darker than I would have liked.
As usual, I didn't weigh out the flour, just put in four heaped dessert spoons to 1/4 pint of milk and two medium eggs.

Our dessert today was a "nod" to the big event of the nation's day....Wimbledon!
I am not a huge sports fan of any sort, but can manage to sit through the finals of most things...tennis probably being the easiest thing to watch if I am honest.
Strawberries are of course synonymous  with Wimbledon...so Eton Mess seemed appropriate.
A rather indulgent summer treat, but so worth it!

It is incredibly easy to make...and is certainly a mess to look at....but the taste is superb!
Whip up fresh cream (lightly) add crushed meringue and sliced fresh strawberries....mix up and there you go!
I understand you can use bananas instead of strawberries ( or as well!) which sounds rather lovely too...so long as the bananas are at peak condition for me ( no brown spots!)

After dinner we retired to the sofas and watched Andy Murray reclaim the championship title.

Part way through the game we also gave Grandma her weekly game of Scrabble
(shh...I won!)

I finished the dolly blanket I started yesterday....made another one...

...and started a third one!
Can you tell sport alone is not enough for me!

Teen Two has been talking about learning the guitar for a few weeks...so after church tonight Hubby got one of his guitars out to get the lessons started!
He has just taught him the first few lines to "Jesus died for all the children" and it sounded pretty good I must say...whether he can remember where all the chords are on his next lesson remains to be seen!

Today's Verse:
For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
