The Adventure Comes To An End

Early on our last morning in New England, the deer came to pay us a visit...always a delight.
We also had a wild turkey fly in!
Teen Two enjoyed a final fling in the golf cart...despite the pouring rain!
The morning was spent finishing off the packing and "visiting" with our friends, to use their expression.
We did also fit in a trip to a surplus store, where I was able to pick up an autumnal decoration, which is yet to be unpacked.
I really do  enjoy decorating my home for the seasons, as the Americans do, although I can't say I manage to do it with such style!
All too soon it was time to say our goodbyes and before we knew it we could see the Boston skyline...always a thrill when we arrive but not so when it's time to leave!
However, it has one of the prettiest views from the airport, of the traditional houses and shore line...
...and what other airport has beautiful white rocking chairs to admire the view in!
Our journey was thankfully, uneventful, but rather long.
By the time we got to the car, we had been up 24hours...and for the Teens their pillows, which we had left in the car...provided the perfect rest for their weary heads!
Both managed a short nap before we arrived home...
...Teen One headed straight for the sofa and nodded off again...with a very happy Milly, who has missed her spot on the sofa!
Teen Two made for the PC to play his beloved Minecraft!
After some sorting out and a little bit of unpacking, I had a long soak in a hot bath...and just may have nodded off!
It has been a great adventure, and one we are sad has come to an end...but we can always start saving for another adventure aye!

Today's Promise:
But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.

  1. You've clearly had a fantastic time and created lovely memories - but I am glad that you are all back safe and sound x

  2. Welcome home! It seems a long time, but looking back it has been short. Have a nice rest.xxxxxxx
