Day Thirteen Of Our US Adventure:UConn Adventures

There have been many highlights to our holiday this year....and for the Teens, rekindling previous adventures was one of them!
Our hosts have a golf cart, which the Teens are allowed to use around the extensive grounds to the property.

It's a small taste of freedom...and maybe a taste of things to come for Teen One if she persists with her driving lessons...that's if Teen Two lets her have the controls!

Today our friend took us to the local University, which is like a little town all of its own.
Teen Two loves the Husky design Uni clothing, having been given a sweater some years ago, we have been replacing it on each subsequent visit.
With four new tops bought it was time to try out something new.
We had been told the dairy bar was excellent so headed for that....

...the Uni Mascot is a Husky...so features pretty much everywhere of course!

Not only is there a delicious range of homemade icecream and milkshake...

...you get to see the ice cream being made as well...

...with yet more Husky related things to see, both indoors...

...and out!

The women's basket ball team recently won the championship (fourth year running I understand) so there was much celebration...

...including a limited edition ice cream flavour!

On the way home we saw a number of the classic yellow school buses...if at any time we forget where we are...these always remind us!

We paid what is probably our last visit to a supermarket...noticing that classic British biscuits are now available over here...at a hefty price!
We also visited an elderly friend for the last time this visit...but as he is in his 93rd year, it goes through my mind as I wave him goodbye...is this the last time?
Only one more full day left...how quickly the time has gone, but we have created  memories that will last forever.

Today's Promise:
I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.
