We LOVE Wonky Veg!

Teen Two had an INSET day today, and his choice of a fun activity was returning to the trampoline arena.
It was much quieter than our previous visit and at one point he had the place to himself and was able to bounce from one trampoline to the other all the way round!
Jumping into the pit of sponges looked great fun... did the basket ball!
He was tired out afterwards and I was freezing as the air con was on  (and much needed for those jumping!) so we headed up to the café for a latte and hot chocolate.
Having seen a programme on TV a while back on the mountain of vegetables farmers have to abandon because supermarkets believe we shoppers only want "perfect" veg...and feeling appalled at the sheer waste of good food...and of course the impact that then has on the price of veg we actually buy, I was thrilled to find Morrisons selling "wonky veg" today!
They will be my first choice of veg from now on and I hope others too, so we can stop this ridiculous waste of precious resources.
Teen One was unaware of the issues and it really made her laugh when she heard me talking about buying "wonky veg!"
Our wonky veg taste just as good in a pan of roasties and sausages.....for some extra colour I threw some peas and cherry tomatoes on for the last few was very yum.
Tonight our Bible Story was another part of the Easter  story, so we made cornflake Easter nests...infact I managed to forget to buy the cornflakes so took along bran flakes instead...fully expecting a few of them to turn their noses up at it....but they all enjoyed they chocolate feasts!

For wisdom is better than rubies; and all the things that may be desired are not to be compared to it.
