Home Safe and Dry

The scene outside of our hotel window this morning was rather dreary...rain and more rain....

...but with the prospect of a delicious Hilton breakfast there was little to feel glum about!
The selection is always superb.
I usually go for the fruit/pancakes/waffle option...with maybe some bacon and egg afterwards.
The full English is always the order of the day for the rest of the family, and even Grandma tucked in to a plate of it!

Hubby then took the Teens to the pool, whilst I kept Grandma occupied with a game of Scrabble ( well it is Sunday after all!)

The tree in the reception was a very grand affair...but by this time , there is little pleasure in seeing the festive decorations everywhere, lets get on with the New Year I say!

The driving conditions on the M25 were pretty miserable, but 40 was the lowest we were restricted too, and quite honestly, in conditions like this, who wants to go faster!
We couldn't help thinking again about the poor people up north, once again suffering floods.

Its good to finally be home, out of the miserable weather, with the woodburner warming us up, Milly giving us a warm welcome home, and the time to have a catch up on the lappy.

All that remains for me to do, is say goodbye to the decorations for another year and pray we all are blessed with peace this coming year.

Today's Verse:
Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.

  1. Pleased you're home again safe and sound. The hotel always looks so luxurious!! Pleased you all had a good time. I suppose it is back to normal soon. I agree with you that it is good to get together with family, thanks for making it down, although it was a shortened visit it was good for us all to be together. Xx
